The immediate grounds are bounded by an acacia wood and by fields to the north, and by our large vineyard of Chardonnay grapes to the south.

In March, the wood is full of small white flowers similar to aconites, then in April, the acacias drip with white, sweet pea-like blossom.

Acacia blossom makes a delectable variety of honey, which can be purchased locally.

In summer the grass is full of wild flowers and a paradise for butterflies, which continue to flourish right through to November.
