Cycling is very popular in Italy. For the occasional cyclist the floodplains of the Rivers Po and Tanaro are very flat and not too far away; some of the side valleys of the nearer Belbo and Bormida valleys are quiet, albeit shorter in length.

More energetic cyclists will be able to chose from an ample supply of undulating terrain, and suggested itineraries for all ability levels are available from Tourist Information Centres.

Click on each link for more details.

Family cycling

There are flat valleys in the Monferatto hills with very little traffic. Don't forget to ride on the right.

Mountain biking

Buy a day ticket on the cablecar near Stresa (Lake Maggiore), and enjoy descents of 1,200 metres. But wear a helmet and protective clothing.

Museum of champions

The National Cycling museum is at nearby Novi Ligure. Attractions include the chance to compete in a virtual race.

Bicycle hire & recovery

We will be offering bicycle hire to our guests, and, for those who want to experience a long descent through the hills, a recovery service !

From Casa della Fontana you will have the opportunity to hire a bicycle and ride into beautiful countryside right from your front door.
